SMS Terms of Service

Early access

The Lucid phone line opens to early-access members first. After you sign up you get one confirmation text when your line opens, and after that only replies to your own calls and texts.

Program

Program: Lucid by Humid Research

What it is: The phone line for Lucid, a writing app for thinking out loud. You call Lucid to talk an idea through and it becomes a note in your project, or you text it a note or a question about one of your Lucid projects.
Messages: One confirmation text when the line opens for you, then replies to the texts and calls you send: confirmations that a note was saved, answers drawn from your notes, call recaps, and responses to HELP, STOP and START. No marketing or promotional messages.
Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your requests. Apart from the one confirmation, Lucid does not text you unless you text or call it first.

Signing up

You sign up on lucid.humidresearch.com/join by entering your mobile number and ticking a separate text message consent checkbox, which is never pre-checked. Consent to texts is not required to use Lucid. When the line opens you get one confirmation:

Calls

Calls to Lucid are recorded and transcribed so your call can be saved as a note. You'll hear this notice at the start of every call; if you don't want to be recorded, hang up and text instead. One short text recap may follow your call; it is covered by your SMS consent.

Frequency and rates

Message frequency varies based on your requests. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan for details.

HELP, STOP, START

Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, CANCEL) at any time to opt out. You'll receive one message confirming you've opted out, and no further texts after that.
Reply HELP (or INFO) for help, including how to reach support.
Reply START to opt back in after opting out.

Before the line opens, you can also cancel a sign-up with Remove my number.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages. Supported on major US carriers; delivery is not guaranteed.

Eligibility

The program is for US mobile numbers. You must be the account holder of the number you enroll, or have the account holder's permission.

Privacy

See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, where it's stored, how long it's kept and how to delete it. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
