Privacy Policy

This policy covers Lucid by Humid Research: this website, the phone line sign-up form, and the Lucid phone line (calls and texts).

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we are

Lucid by Humid Research is operated by Andrew Armenante, doing business as Humid Research, an independent software studio in the United States. "We" in this policy means Humid Research.

The sign-up form

When you submit the early access form on lucid.humidresearch.com/join, we store:

  • Your mobile number.
  • A record of your consent: that you ticked the text message box and the terms box, the exact consent wording you saw and its version, the versions of the SMS Terms and this policy, the date and time, and the page you signed up on.
  • Your IP address and your browser's user agent (the string that names your browser and device), kept with the consent record as evidence of how you signed up.
  • A sign-up status: waiting for the confirmation text, opted in, or opted out.

To stop abuse of the form, we also keep short-lived counters of how many sign-ups come from an IP address per hour and for a number per day.

We use this only to send you the one confirmation text when the phone line opens, to run the phone line you signed up for, to keep proof of your consent and opt-outs, and to prevent abuse. The records are stored with Amazon Web Services (Amazon DynamoDB, in the United States, us-east-1), encrypted at rest, and only Humid Research can access them. The form sets no cookies.

How long we keep it

Sign-ups not yet confirmed
Deleted automatically about 12 months after you submit, if no confirmation text has been sent by then.
After the confirmation text
Your consent record is kept while you're opted in and for 4 years after you opt out, because it's our proof that you agreed to receive texts. After an opt-out we keep your number marked as opted out so we don't text it again.
Abuse counters
Deleted automatically within about two days.
Backups
The database keeps restore points for 35 days, so a deleted record can remain in an encrypted backup for up to 35 days.
Service logs
Kept 14 days. They record whether a request succeeded, never your number or IP address.

Deleting your data

  • Remove my number: the form at the bottom of the early access page deletes every sign-up record we hold for a number, right away (backups as described above).
  • Reply STOP to any Lucid text to opt out.
  • Or email support@humidresearch.com to ask what we hold about you, or to delete it.

This website

  • The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising tools, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts.
  • The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront). Like any web host, AWS processes standard request information, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver and protect the site. We have not turned on website access logs.
  • The example conversation runs entirely in your browser. What you type there is never sent or stored.

The phone line

Early access

When the phone line opens, using it involves:

  • The texts you send and the replies you receive.
  • Call audio and its transcript, when you call Lucid. You'll hear a recording notice at the start of every call.
  • The parts of your Lucid projects needed to answer you, such as the project's summary, notes and open questions.
  • Opt-out and opt-in history (STOP and START), so we honor your choice.

We use this only to provide what you ask for: save your notes, answer your questions, send the replies you request, and respond to HELP, STOP and START. Never for marketing or advertising. Before the line opens we'll add here how long call recordings, transcripts and texts are kept.

Service providers

These providers process data for us, only to deliver the service:

  • Amazon Web Services hosts this website and stores sign-up records.
  • Twilio carries texts and calls. When the line opens, Twilio receives your number, your texts and call audio to deliver them.
  • AI model and speech-to-text providers transcribe calls and turn your request into a note or an answer. The Lucid app uses OpenRouter (to reach models such as Anthropic's Claude) and the speech-to-text services ElevenLabs, Mistral and Aqua Voice. The phone line will use these or similar providers; we'll list the final set here before it opens.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share information only with the service providers above, only to run the service, or when required by law.

Texts and calls

Message frequency varies based on your requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, HELP for help, and START to opt back in. Calls are recorded and transcribed to create your note. See the SMS Terms of Service.

Other

Lucid and its phone line are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If this policy changes, we'll update the date and version at the top of this page; the version you agreed to is stored with your consent record.
